OFT/CC Joint Review of Merger Assesment Guidelines
The Competition Commission (CC) and the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) (together, the Authorities) are for the first time producing joint Merger Assessment Guidelines. They have conducted two consultation exercises on successive drafts of the document: a full public consultation between April and September 2009, and a call for comments on a revised text in April/ May 2010. Submissions from parties on the drafts are published below. (A summary of submissions during the full public consultation and the Authorities’ responses to the major points raised can also be found below.)
The Guidelines are due to be published in July 2010.
