Inquiry Directors
Salary range: £65,000 – £80,000
Inquiry Directors are the strategic project managers for CC inquiries into mergers, markets and the regulation of key industries. Their core responsibility is to deliver robust, well reasoned decisions within an inquiry’s statutory deadline using resources effectively and efficiently.
Inquiry Directors provide the Group Chairman and Commission Members with sound, timely advice on the strategic direction of inquiries and key issues arising during inquiries as well as drafting the key inquiry documents. They are responsible for developing and maintaining good working relationships with key external stakeholders on inquiries. They lead and manage the multi-disciplinary staff team to ensure the team produces high quality analysis. In addition, as Senior Civil Servants, Inquiry Directors are members of the CC’s senior team and contribute to its wider management.
Candidates will be high-calibre graduates with a good understanding of business and substantial project and people management experience. Familiarity with competition or regulatory policy, particularly economics and law, is desirable.

ICT Network & Security Manager
Salary range: £37,000 - £47,000
The Network and Security Manager is responsible for the overall network and security function of the CC. This includes line management, leadership, strategic direction, including – but not limited to – providing hands-on support and maintenance and liaising closely with key stakeholders and the external customers to which the CC provides IT services. The post holder is the CC’s IT Security Officer (ITSO) and Communications Security Officer (ComSO). They are responsible for ensuring that the CC’s IT systems meet mandatory government security standards and for ensuring the CC retains its GSi accreditation. It is a customer focussed role within an evolving IT department. Knowledge of HMG IT security procedures is essential. The successful applicant will also have these professional technical qualifications: CCNP, CISSP, CISM and CCNA.
