PROPOSED ACQUISITION OF MYSON PUMPS BY GRUNDFOS

REFERENCE LAID ASIDE

The Competition Commission has laid aside the reference concerning the proposed acquisition of certain assets of Baxi Partnership Limited, namely its pumps manufacturing business (Myson Pumps Limited) by Grundfos Holding AG.

The reference was made to the Competition Commission on 2 October 2000 by Dr Kim Howells, Competition and Consumer Affairs Minister.

The Commission has concluded that Grundfos Holding AG has, within the terms of section 75(5) of the Fair Trading Act 1973, abandoned the proposal to make arrangements for the acquisition of certain assets of Baxi Partnership Limited. The Commission has accordingly, with the Secretary of State's consent, laid the reference aside.
