RSS news feeds

Subscribe to our news feeds and get notifications about additions to the website delivered straight to your desktop.

What is an RSS news feed?

RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication'. It is an easy way for you to be updated automatically on news from websites without needing to register your details with separate email alert systems on different sites.

Websites publish via RSS and then you can automatically get notified of updated content via a 'news aggregator' or 'news reader'. Typically, an item in an RSS news feed will only contain a title, excerpt or description, and link back to the original, more detailed content.

News aggregators / news readers

If you want to receive RSS feeds you will need a news reader. You can access some readers via a web browser, while some are applications that need to be downloaded onto your computer. There are a range of different news readers available. When choosing a news reader application you need to get one that works on your operating system.

Popular news readers include:

Windows
